Patrick T. Antonelli has spent more than 30 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified School Psychologist.
Dr. Antonelli functions as a psychoeducational advocate and consultant for parents with children requiring evaluation for special education eligibility, as well as specializing in vocational testing and career counseling for adolescents and adults. His approach considers the patient within an environment, addressing family systems, stress management, and behavior modification.
Dr. Antonelli spent more than 20 years as a School Psychologist, Director of Guidance, Director of Special Services, and Child Study Supervisor, most notably as psychodiagnostic evaluator for several New Jersey drug abuse and child developmental facilities. His background also includes college administration, hypnotherapy training, teaching high school social studies, and coaching high school baseball.
Dr. Antonelli earned his Ed.D. from Fordham University, followed by post-doctoral training at Seton Hall University in marriage and family strategy and psychotherapeutic techniques. He earned master’s degrees in education from Syracuse and Seton Hall universities, and a bachelor’s in social studies-education from Syracuse University (where he was also a Division I baseball player).
He has also served as an Employee Assistance Program Clinical Affiliate and Mental Health Provider for several managed care corporations.
Dr. Antonell is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, American Psychology Association, and New Jersey Education Association. He is certified as a school psychologist in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
